Border patrol agents seize rifles, ammo No description found
DEL RIO, Texas – Del Rio U.S. Border Patrol agents seized nearly two dozen rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition on Thursday from a group crossing the Rio Grande River.
Agents said six people waded across the river and walked up to a car on the side of the road. As the agents approached, the six headed back to Mexico.
Inside the car, agents found 23 rifles, about 5,000 rounds of ammo and five ammunition magazines.
Agents said the estimated worth of the weapons cache was $27,000.
