Deputies find dead driver after passerby reports flipped vehicle

Debris, tools scattered near crash site, deputies say

SAN ANTONIO – Authorities discovered a driver's body ejected from his vehicle Sunday morning after a passerby reported seeing a rolled-over car in a field in Southwest Bexar County.

Deputies were called to a field off of Somerset Road and Evans Road around 7:30 a.m. and found a man in his 30s had been thrown from the car and into a nearby field.

The man was dead on arrival, deputies said.

Investigators are working to determine how the man flipped the car, but they believe he was headed northbound on Somerset Road when he lost control of his vehicle, hit several fence poles and flipped the car before finally being ejected.

Authorities discovered debris and tools that flew out of the car and are currently searching for the license place for the vehicle, as it was not on the car.

Deputies have not released the identity of the man.
