Authorities ID driver killed in head-on crash along Loop 1604 in East Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed in a head-on crash along Loop 1604 in East Bexar County on Tuesday night, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at 9:45 p.m. at Loop 1604 and FM 1346, near St. Hedwig.

Details about what caused the wreck are unknown at this time, but BCSO said the head-on crash involved a red truck and a black sedan.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as David Gerald Wagner, 77, of Floresville.

The driver of the truck was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with serious bodily injuries, BCSO said.
