Spike strip stops 3 teens allegedly running from police in stolen car
SAN ANTONIO โ Three teenagers are facing criminal charges after a robbery and chase along local highways that reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Police say the car they were in had been stolen earlier in the evening from a 20-year-old at the Quality Inn hotel. Officers spotted the stolen car shortly after 4 a.m. in the area of Loop 410 and Summit Parkway and began to follow it. At times they reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, police said. AdWith help from Bexar County sheriffโs deputies who deployed a spike strip, they were able to disable the car by flattening its tires.

Driver who tried to run Somerset police officer off the road had 17 bags of heroin in his truck, affidavit states
The officer contacted the Bexar County Sheriffโs Office and followed Rosasโ truck as it turned on Somerset Road and drove in circles in the city. Rosas eventually stopped the truck along a street, exited the truck and began shouting at the officer, the affidavit said. AdThe suspect said โ**** you and **** thisโ before getting back into the truck and driving off toward the intersection of Loop 1604 and Somerset Road, the affidavit states. In Rosasโ vehicle, officers found 17 bags of heroin, totaling 22.36 grams, inside a Jack Links beef jerky container. They also found a glass pipe and a dash camera inside Rosasโ truck.
Driver detained after rollover crash on Loop 1604, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A female driver has been detained on suspicion of DWI after a rollover crash on Loop 1604, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. in the main lanes of Loop 1604 near Highway 281. According to police, the woman rolled her vehicle and was treated for minor injuries by EMS at the scene. Police said the woman was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.
Authorities ID driver of 18-wheeler who died in fiery crash on I-37 in South Bexar County
SAN ANTONIO โ The driver of an 18-wheeler who fatally crashed at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Interstate 37 last week has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examinerโs Office. Robert Moore, 53, of San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the site of the fiery crash, which happened Thursday night. Police said Moore was driving an 18-wheeler that was carrying molasses and heading into San Antonio via the northbound lanes of I-37 in South Bexar County. The trailer and the tractor then separated, and the trailer ruptured, spilling molasses onto Loop 1604, police said. SAPD said a Dodge Caravan heading westbound on Loop 1604 was struck by either the truck or the trailer.
