The suspects took off in a red Mercedes with tinted windows

SAN ANTONIO – A shooting involving four suspects near the pool area of an apartment complex left a 6-year-old boy and a man hospitalized, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. Thursday in the 5800 block of Medina Base Road on the Southwest Side.

Police said the suspects arrived at the parking lot in a red Mercedes and shot at a 45-year-old man’s vehicle.

The shooters then opened fire on a 23-year-old man who was standing nearby, police said. He was hit in his right leg.

The child was inside the pool area when he was struck in his foot.

The 23-year-old man and 6-year-old boy were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The victims are not related, police at the scene said.

A building next to the pool was also hit by the small-caliber bullets.

The shooters took off from the scene in the Mercedes, which has tinted windows and a silver lining. More details on the suspects are limited at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
