Nixon police seek man in armed robbery who apologized during crime

Man entered Reliable Finance, demands cash at gunpoint, police say

NIXON, Texas – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed man who robbed a loan store.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Reliable Finance in Nixon. The man initially entered the store and asked about acquiring about a loan before leaving.

Moments later the video shows the man coming back and demanding cash at gunpoint. The man also took the victims cellphone.

The man told the victim that he was from the Kennedy area. In the surveillance video (seen above), the man can be heard saying, "I'm sorry to do this, sir, but I'm desperate."

Police said he left in a brown or tan-colored 2003-2004 Ford F-150 with an unknown license plate.

The robber is described by police as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s who is 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 190-205 pounds and has short dark-colored hair.
