SAN ANTONIO – There's a new movement in Triple-A baseball coming to San Antonio in 2019, but there is still nothing concrete about a potential new stadium.
Elmore Sports Group, which owns the San Antonio Missions, signed a 30-year lease with the city of Amarillo to pave the way for Double-A baseball there. That plays into a swap that's in the works, which will affect San Antonio.

The baseball team in Colorado Springs, also owned by Elmore, will drop down to a lower level to allow the Missions to move up to Triple-A. Then the team in Amarillo will take the Double-A spot.
The Missions’ front office said the team will stay a Double-A team for the 2018 season and continue playing at Wolff Stadium. Then they will move up to Triple-A in 2019, also staying at the Wolff for that season. It’s where they will play beyond that that's in question.
Several sites for a possible new stadium, including some in downtown San Antonio, have been mentioned. Mayor's Ron Nirenberg’s office said it is not aware of any definitive plan in the works.
