Aid the Silent was one of 100 groups across the country to be selected for Lowe's Hometowns program. Aid the Silent will receive $140,000 to build a deaf-accessible playground, renovate sidewalks and create an outdoor stage for community events.

Saturday morningโs run was a major fundraising effort for the group who aims to help deaf and hard of hearing children and teens. Although masks are a standard requirement, participants were encouraged to opt for clear masks to properly communicate with those who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. โYou will notice there are so many clear masks and clear face shields (being worn by participants), and they are being intentional to show everyone is welcome,โ Rudkin said. So last night, I had this horrible confrontation where of course they kept changing the rules, so I don't understand what's happening, and it's not on the website. I'm sorry, but I'm deaf, what are you even saying? And I'm I'm deaf, you have to lower this for a short time and explain the rule, because it's not written, its not shown. They're being left and left in their own filth and left in clothes that have not been changed, have not been fed. So I can make an argument it's worse for people with disabilities right now.
