SAN ANTONIO, Texas โ Veterans Memorialโs first season of play at the varsity level has been a dream. After losing the first two games of the season to Floresville and Champion, the Patriots have run the table in District 13-5A with six straight wins. Theyโve done it with a balanced attack, amassing more than 1,200 yards on the ground and 931 yards in the air. Now, the Patriots prepare for a showdown against perennial powerhouse Wagner with a chance to clinch their first-ever district title. But since that game, the Thunderbirds have reeled off seven straight wins by averaging 66.5 points per game, compiling over 3,200 yards on the ground.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas โ The Big Game in our Big Game Coverage in week 7 of the high school football season features the second-ranked team in the area - the undefeated OโConnor Panthers - squaring off against the fifth-ranked Brandeis Broncos, whose only loss this season came against Brennan two weeks ago. โThey are 4-1 and we are 5-0,โ said senior OโConnor offensive lineman Brannon Brown. โLetโs go at it and see who the better team is, just straight up,โ said Panthers talented junior quarterback David Dodd. โThey have a really good team, but we have a really good team as well. โThey are a really good football team,โ said Brandeis head football coach David Branscom.
BGC Preview 2018: Wagner vs Brackenridge
SAN ANTONIO, Texas โ One of the big games in our Big Game Coverage Friday night on KSAT 12 will feature the Wagner Thunderbirds against the Brackenridge Eagles. โItโs a very tough opponent coming up,โ Wagner senior slotback Karlton Black said. โItโs honestly a big motivation,โ said Brackenridge senior outside linebacker Isaac Anaya. โTheyโre very dangerous,โ Wagner senior linebacker Gregory Steptoe said. Weโre ready to come out and show what weโve got.โโThe two best teams in the district going head-to-head," Brackenridge senior defensive lineman Samuel Lopez said.
BGC Preview 2018: O'Connor vs Steele
The Big Game in our Big Game Coverage to kick off the 2018 high school football season will feature two top 5 teams in 12โs top 12 and a rematch from last season that wasnโt decided until the final seconds. Last year, the game was played in week 3 of the high school football season, which left OโConnor 3-0 and Steele at 1-2. โYou know, itโs going to be a great test for us for our first game of the year, โ said David Saenz, Steele head coach. โWithout a doubt, I still get butterflies just like when I was playing 20 plus years ago," he said. Kick off Friday night is set for 7:30 p.m. and it should be standing room only.
