Although itโ€™s fair to say that none of those had the picturesque setting of this rink located on the 18th fairway of a golf course on the shores of Lake Tahoe and surrounded by trees with snow-covered mountains towering in the background. Fleury made 36 saves for Vegas and fell to 0-3 in three career outdoor game starts. AdPART 1The Avs controlled the play under the sun, getting an early goal from Girard and outshooting Vegas 17-8 in the first 20 minutes.

NHL adapts COVID-19 approach through 1st month of season

โ€œIโ€™m feeling quite well but, of course, scarred by the experience.โ€The first month of the NHL's pandemic-shortened season has been a bumpy one. From Jan. 13 through Saturday, 120 players from 26 of 31 teams have spent at least one day on the COVID-19 list. Minnesota and New Jersey are scheduled to return Tuesday, while the Philadelphia Flyers, who currently have seven players on the NHL COVID-19 list, are on pause until at least Thursday. AdThe NHL had 22 players on the COVID-19 list on Jan. 30, and that number ballooned to a season-high 59 on Friday. Rapid tests return results within a half hour and augment the PCR daily tests which were already taking place.

NHL adds game-day rapid testing to stem COVID-19 outbreaks

(Bruce Bennett/Pool Photo via AP)The NHL is adding game-day rapid tests for players, team personnel and on-ice officials as part of a series of expanded safety protocols unveiled Thursday in its latest bid to stem potential COVID-19 outbreaks. The added measures were approved by the league and NHL Playersโ€™ Associationโ€™s medical advisors, and will remain in place until at least the end of the month. โ€œI think now with the rapid testing getting in place is going to help,โ€ Stone said. There are currently five NHL teams on pause: the Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild and Philadelphia Flyers, though others have also been idled. โ€œI think youโ€™re a little bit naive to think we were going to go through the whole season without one guy testing positive,โ€ Stone said.
