In the June 7 runoff election, several candidates are competing to secure open seats on the San Antonio City Council, as well as the mayoral position.

Ivalis Meza Gonzalez has defeated opponent Paula McGee in the runoff race for San Antonio City Council District 8.

A former mayoral staffer touting her experience is facing off against an attorney promising to bring an “outsider perspective” to San Antonio City Hall in the District 8 city council race.

Six people are on the ballot, and current councilman Manny Pelaez is not in the race.
