SAN ANTONIO – A portion of Loop 1604 on the Far West Side remains closed Thursday morning after a driver crashed and rolled over his gravel truck overnight. San Antonio police say the driver wrecked his truck along the southbound lanes of Loop 1604 near Shaenfield Road around 1 a.m. Thursday, and the truck then caught fire. The southbound lanes of Loop 1604 between Shaenfield Road and New Guilbeau Road are closed due to the crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The gravel truck was moved upright before 6 a.m., but police say the lanes will stay closed for the next several hours.
