January and October are the only two months that will have a Friday the 13th this year, which means there will be two opportunities to get a special on a tattoo at local tattoo parlors around San Antonio.

May is the only month in 2022 that will have a Friday the 13th and some tattoo shops around San Antonio are celebrating with discounts and specials.

It’s common practice for some tattoo shops to offer $13 tattoos in celebration of Friday the 13th and many San Antonio area tattoo parlors are participating with discounted tattoo specials.

After an economically and emotionally stressful year in 2020, things are starting to return to normal. For area tattoo artists, the business is booming.

SAN ANTONIO – Friday the 13th doesn’t have to be spooky - it’s actually time for tattoo fanatics to celebrate because many tattoo parlors offer scary good deals on ink. It’s common practice for tattoo shops to offer $13 tattoos in celebration of Friday the 13th, and many San Antonio-area tattoo parlors are participating this month with discounted specials. Generally, tattoo shops will have a list of flash tattoos to choose from for the $13 special, however, rules vary from parlor to parlor. Some tattoo shops extend the Friday the 13th special through the weekend and some shops start several days early. Call ahead to see if your local tattoo parlor is participating in any $13 tattoo events.

SAN ANTONIO – A local registered nurse has transformed her passion of helping others in the emergency room to helping people through her non-profit tattoo removal program. “The side effect was that it caused a burn, but it healed without a scar but I could scar,” Kent said. Kent said depending on the tattoo, it varies as far as how many treatments it takes to have a tattoo completely removed. “It is a fading process,” Kent said. It’s nice.”Kent said the biggest reward she gets is knowing she has help start the change in someone’s life.
