Thousands of people made their way downtown for the 13th annual San Antonio Book Festival on Saturday, filled with some of the city’s most passionate bookworms.

One local author who will be at this year’s San Antonio Book Festival is Xavier Garza, a children’s author and illustrator whose work draws from his own childhood experiences in the Rio Grande Valley.

On Monday afternoon, Holy Cross high school held a rally to celebrate accomplishments at the TAPPS state level, including newly crowned champions in softball, cheerleading and track & field.
