Former teacher sentenced for fondling students

A former teacher at a local Catholic school Monday was sentenced to 20 years in prison for fondling two third-grade students.

Arturo Flores, 56, was a computer teacher at John Berchmans Catholic School when the indecency with a child allegations came to light.

Flores was sentenced to 20 years on each count, which will be served concurrently.

The guilty verdict comes after a now-10-year-old girl testified on Jan. 28 that Flores fondled her while she was an 8-year-old third-grader.

One of the victims said that Flores touched her as he helped her with her computer work in the classroom on May 30, 2011.
