San Antonio police arrest man accused of robbing group at car wash

Robert Joseph Smith, 29, charged with aggravated robbery with deadly weapon

SAN ANTONIO – A man suspected of robbing three people at gunpoint at a car wash more than year ago has been arrested by San Antonio police.

Robert Joseph Smith, 29, was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

An arrest affidavit stated Smith and a woman robbed the group at a car wash in northeast San Antonio in July of 2012.

The affidavit stated the female suspect approached the victims and asked for change.

Smith then drove up to the victims, pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Witnesses were able to provide police with the license plate of Smith's car. There was no word if the female suspect was also taken into custody.
