Sacred statue arrives in SA from Mexico

Statue on display at St. Cecilia for 1 week

A sacred statue from Mexico arrived in San Antonio Sunday.

The Pilgrim Statue of the Virgin of San Juan de Los Lagos Mexico arrived at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church Sunday afternoon.

Parishoners packed the church to witness the procession.

The Archdiocese of San Antonio said the statue of the mother of Jesus is there for anyone to to see, not just Catholics.

"It is for the people of good will to come and pray for healing of minds, healing of memories and of course spiritual healing," said Monsignor Adolfo Valdivia of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

The statue will be at Saint Cecilia until March 16.
