At least 1 injured in small plane crash

Plane crashes on ranch near Fredericksburg

At least one person was injured when a small airplane crashed near Fredericksburg on Wednesday morning.

According to Rick Friedrick, the owner of the Silver Wings Fly-In Ranch where the plane crashed, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Friedrick said a pilot and his instructor were on board the small aircraft, practicing touch-and-gos.

He said the plane had a mechanical issue and crashed into some cattle pens.

The pilot suffered an injury to his leg and was taken to an area hospital. Friedrick did not have information on the status of the instructor.
