Arson to blame for NW fire

SAN ANTONIO – A building burst into flames around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Authorities said flames were shooting out of a building that used to be an auto sales business.

Neighbors told police three small homes surrounding the business have been vacant for months.

The fire captain confirmed the establishments were vacant when the fire started.

"It was the middle of those three small apartments like homes on the property," said Captain Billy Cornwell with the San Antonio Fire Department. "There was also a separate fire in this corner."

The fire is still under investigation but officials said they believe it was arson due to the separate fire.
