Elearzar Lopez, 37, past away in motorcycle crash

SAN ANTONIO – The family of a man killed in a motorcycle crash on Monday struggling with the loss.

Elearzar Lopez, 37 was killed on Monday after police said a SUV turned in front of him on South General McMullen.

Lopez was on his Harley and was not wearing his helmet.

On Tuesday, dozens of bikers showed up to a vigil, where the crash happened, to pay their respects.

Lopez's family called him, "Mike." His sister, Patricia Losoya, said that Mike was a religious man.

"He had no fear," said Losoya. "He knew where he was going to go if he were to die. He always told me, "Don't be scared, sister. If it's our time to go. It's our time to go."

Lopez's fiancé Gwendolyn Perez, who was with him at the time, did survive, but she is still in the hospital with severe injuries.

Losoya said losing her brother has been difficult on the entire family, especially his mother.

"Right now, she's taking it hard," said Losoya. "She still hasn't seen him. She's like, 'Take me to the hospital.' "I'm like, Mom, he's not there."

"We lost a good man," said Rene Gonzales, Lopez's nephew. "But God needed him a little bit more than we did so, be free tio and you're going to live on with us forever."

Police said the driver of the SUV will not face any charges.
