Motel murder suspect arrested

Christopher Medellin, 25, wanted in death of Tomas Serna

SAN ANTONIO – Wanted in connection with the death of Tomas Serna last month, Christopher Medellin, 25, has been arrested.

Police said Medellin had recently been released from the Comal County Jail on unrelated charges when Serna was killed June 18.

Serna was found shot to death in a bed at the Lackland Motel in the 200 block of Whitewood.

An arrest affidavit stated Medellin became angry when he found out that his girlfriend was at the motel with Serna.

The girlfriend said that she drove back to the motel with Medellin. When they got there, Medellin went into the room where Serna was sleeping and shot him.

Medellin now faces murder charges.
