Reward offered for Woodlawn Lake burglary suspect

Rico Calvo, 35, accused of December break-in

SAN ANTONIO – A burglar suspected of leaving his accomplice behind has managed to elude police since December. They're hoping the promise of a reward will help put him behind bars.

Rico Calvo, 35, is wanted for felony theft.

San Antonio Police said Calvo and Jesus Villarreal broke into a home on the 1800 blk. of W. Craig Place on Dec. 7. Police said the pair took a television, jewelry and other items from the home.

"Somebody saw them and called the police and when the officers responded, they were able arrest Villarreal but Calvo was able to get away," said Lieutenant Frank Martinez with SAPD's Repeat Offender Program.

Police said Calvo is homeless, but has been known to hang out in the Woodlawn Lake area.

Calvo is 5'10" tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has tattoos on his legs and hands. Police released two photos of Calvo (PICTURED BELOW) showing he has changed his appearance between previous arrests.

"In one of the pictures, he's got longer hair and in the other picture, he's got really short hair. Many times these people will change their looks so it's even more challenging to capture them," Martinez said.

Martinez said Calvo has burglarized the Woodlawn Lake and Jefferson areas before. He warned residents to report unfamiliar persons and suspicious vehicles to police.

Anyone with information on Calvo's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP. A tipster whose information leads to Calvo's arrest could be eligible for a reward.
