Man stabbed to death on North Side, roommate arrested

Man in mid- to late 60s found dead

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his mid- to late 60s was stabbed to death Monday morning on the city's North Side.

Police responded to a home in the 700 block of West Lullwood Avenue on a report of a man covered in blood and sitting in a chair on the porch.

Officers found the man slumped over in the chair, dead.

The man's roommate and suspect in the stabbing was found inside the home and arrested without incident, police said.

The suspect, who is in his mid-40s, told police that the victim had been "bothering him quite a bit."

According to police, the suspect said he and the victim were arguing Monday morning when the victim pulled out a knife. The suspect said he also pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the right ankle. Police have not said if the victim was stabbed more than once.

Police said the victim was stabbed inside the home and made his way to the porch, where he was found dead.

Police said the suspect was taken to the homicide office and refused to provide a statement. He is expected to be charged with murder.
