BCSO investigating inmate assault on officers

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an inmate allegedly assaulted two detention officers.

The incident happened Friday at 1:15 p.m. while an inmate was being taken back to his jail cell.

The Sheriff’s Office said the inmate punched an officer and when a second officer came to help, that officer was also injured.

Both officers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The inmate, Devante Robinson-Woods, was in jail for allegedly assaulting an officer and now has two additional charges pending.
