SAN ANTONIO – Two people were arrested late Saturday night after Bexar County deputies said they led them on a chase in a stolen car.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, a deputy tried to signal a driver to lower the brightness of his vehicle's headlights.
When the driver did not lower the lights, the deputy ran the car's license plate and it came up stolen, said deputies.
Deputies tried to pull over the driver but instead he sped off down Roosevelt Avenue and 99th Street, deputies said.
Deputies said they tried to box the car when the driver spun around multiple times, lost control, and hit a tree near Mission Road and 99th Street.
The two men inside started running into a cemetery, said deputies. The Department of Public Safety initiated their helicopter to assist in the search for the suspects. The men were eventually caught and arrested.
They are both facing charges for a stolen vehicle and evading arrest. Deputies said more charges will be filed against them.
