SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B, in an effort to battle hunger throughout Texas and Mexico, will be delivering H-E-B Quick Oats Oatmeal to 17 food banks this week.
A fleet of trucks began their delivery of more than 2 million meals on Monday.

“One in six Texans live in food-insecure homes, including one in four Texas children,” H-E-B Public Affairs Manager Danny Flores said. “As the largest food retailer in the state, it is our dedicated mission to give back to communities in need and do our part to make sure no family goes hungry this holiday season.”
The donations, which are being made through the H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program, are benefiting food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief organization.
The H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program was founded in 1962 and is nationally recognized for its donations and regular monthly deliveries of food in Texas and Mexico.
H-E-B said it is delivering the company's oatmeal because it is a good source of fiber and a great addition to a heart-healthy diet.
The benefiting food banks, which will each receive 4,608 boxes of oatmeal, are:
