Shots fired at car on highway hit, kill child days shy of 4th birthday Child shot in head
SAN ANTONIO ā UPDATE: SAPD detectives are searching forĀ for a gold or beige 4 door 2000 model Honda Civic in connection to the capital murder.

A 3-year-old who was days away from his fourth birthdayĀ was killed Saturday night after being hit by gun fire.Ā

According to police, a family was driving down New Laredo Highway near Briggs Avenue on the South West Side when someone in a car pulled up beside them and fired a single shot.
Police said 3-year-old Renee BlancasĀ was shot in the head. The family drove to Southwest general hospital but the baby was air-lifted to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating who fired the shots and why.Ā
