SAN ANTONIO – A new charge has been filed against the suspect accused of dressing up as Freddy Krueger and shooting a man at a Halloween party last year.
22-year-old Robert Contreras is already charged with aggravated assault of a deadly weapon and now also faces the added charge of an unlawful carry of a weapon.
Contreras along with two other suspects are accused of forcing their way into a home back in Oct of 2016 and creating a brawl.
Police said there was a pushing match between the three suspects and a man and his friends -- all before Contreras allegedly shot the man in the abdomen and ran off.
Investigators said the victim was shown a photo array and Contreras was identified as the person who shot him.
Contreras was arrested this past October for the crime. Soon after SAPD obtained a search warrant for his car and found guns, ammunition and three bags of marijuana inside.
