2 skeletal remains found after vultures seen circling SA park

Officers find skull, then another decomposed body 75 yards away

Human remains were found Wednesday along Salado Creek in the Ira Lee area at Tobin Park Trailhead, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, a passerby called police after he saw vultures circling near the park and later came across a skull.

When officers arrived at the scene, the person who notified police walked the officers to the area where he found the skull, later verified as being human.

During that time, investigators found a second decomposed body about 75 yards away from where the skull was located, according to SAPD.

"At this time, there doesn't appear to be any signs of foul play, but again, we're very early in the investigation. The case is still under investigation and awaiting an autopsy," said Sgt. Michelle Ramos, a spokeswoman with SAPD.

Crime scene investigators and detectives went to the location to collect evidence and the remains.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined the manners of death as of Thursday afternoon.
