Crashes reported on Lombrano, NW 22nd streets

SAN ANTONIO – A brief chase involving Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputy ended in two crashes and one person arrested.

Sheriff's officials said a deputy stopped a car for a traffic violation around 3 p.m. near North Hamilton Avenue and North Elmendorf Street when the vehicle took off as he approached it.

A chase ensued until the deputy's SUV was involved in a crash with a minivan in the 1800 block of Lombrano Street, officials said.

Shortly after that crash, the car that led the deputy on the chase crashed on Northwest 22nd Street, officials said. Two people took off on foot, but police were able to apprehend one of them and place him under arrest. The other person got away.

The driver of the minivan suffered non-life-threatening injuries while the deputy was treated at the scene, officials said.
