Two people are dead after a shooting Friday morning at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland -- an incident that involved an airman shooting his squadron commander, a Pentagon official speaking on condition of anonymity said. A student at John Marshall High School said he found a maggot in his cinnamon roll during lunch on Thursday. A school assistant principal was arrested Friday morning after police said he responded to a break up with some shotgun blasts and a police standoff. THURSDAY
Eisenhower Middle School student Mailani Godin, 12, was killed on her way to school Thursday morning after she was hit by a car. The owners of the San Antonio Missions confirmed Thursday that they are working with the city of San Antonio to move a Triple-A baseball team from Colorado Springs to the Alamo City. Three sergeants and one patrol deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office are facing termination Thursday after they were accused of engaging in sexual activity on the job. WEDNESDAY
A police officer for the San Antonio Independent School District was placed on paid administrative leave Wednesday after cellphone video emerged of the officer slamming a 12-year-old female student to the ground. Two San Marcos residents have been arrested and accused of spray-painting the phrase "CA$H TRUCK" on Enchanted Rock last month. Country music legend Merle Haggard died Wednesday, his birthday, at his home in Northern California. He was 79.
TUESDAY
A man accused of trying to run over two Precinct 4 deputy constables and leading them on a car chase was been arrested Tuesday. David Alexander Zuniga, 17, was arrested in connection with the December shooting death of Jesse Lee Richards, 28, at an East Side bus stop. A body was found Tuesday morning on the University of Texas campus in Austin, school officials said.
MONDAY
Eva’s Heroes, the namesake of actress and benefactor Eva Longoria, is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a year-long traveling photo exhibit featuring many of the ‘heroes’ it serves, children and young people with intellectual special needs. || People living in a Northeast Bexar County apartment complex say they've been fearing for their safety for too long and they're fed up. A group of residents spoke to KSAT-12 Monday afternoon about their concerns at the Midcrown Pavilion Apartments at 5414 Midcrown Drive. || More than 80 dogs have already been removed from a property in Bexar County, but dozens remain as rescue groups try to find space for them. Bexar County estimates about 130 dogs were on a Farm View Loop property visited by BCSO deputies last month. The county and private rescue operations have since removed many of the dogs, and are trying to find them new homes.

It was a rough weekend for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. It began on Saturday when an off-duty deputy was killed when he crashed his motorcycle into a truck that had crashed in front of him. Deputy Richard Hammock had been with the office since September 2003. Another deputy made news Sunday morning for all the wrong reasons. Joe Hernandez was arrested Sunday morning by San Antonio police and charged with DWI. Hernandez currently works as a bailiff at the Bexar County Court Complex.

One of the most popular stories on KSAT.com this weekend came courtesy of vandals. Early Saturday morning someone or a nice group of folks decided tagging the popular “I love tacos so much” was a bright idea. Luckily, the owners were able to quickly get things back to normal.
Social media leads to shooting
A man is behind bars after San Antonio police said a social media post led to a shooting last month. Donald Martin Moore has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Troy King at an East Side car wash. Even before the arrest neighbors in one East Side community started to fight back. Many tell KSAT they have one thing in common: They're afraid to be in their own home. At a meeting on Friday city leaders explained their latest plans to curb the violence.
Team baby blue vs. team navy blue
Villanova and the University of North Carolina Tar Hells will duke it out Monday night for the NCAA men’s basketball national championship. The Sooners were spanked 95-51 by Villanova on Saturday night for their worst loss of the season. The next game of the night did not provide the big comeback like the one No. 10 seed Orange had engineered to get to this far. Syracuse lost to UNC, 83-66. The loss ended coach Jim Boeheim's 39th season with an 83-66 loss to North Carolina.

The silver and black kick off a three-game road trip this week. The Spurs will start with Utah on Tuesday, then play back-to-back games to wrap up the week. Up second will be the Golden State Warriors on Thursday followed by the Denver Nuggets on Friday. By defeating the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, 102-95, the Spurs improved to 39-0 at home this season and have now won 64 games, both franchise records. You know our digital team has you covered!
