SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say they are searching for the driver of a vehicle that ran over a woman in a parking lot and did not stop to render aid.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 8700 block of Wurzbach Road, not far from Fredericksburg Road and the Medical Center area.
According to police, the 20-year-old woman was sitting on the ground in the parking lot. That’s when, police say, a vehicle backing out of a parking space ran over the woman.
The driver of the vehicle fled without stopping. They have not been found.
The woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where she is expected to recover.
SAPD did not say why the woman was sitting in the parking lot.
When found, the driver of the vehicle will be charged with failure to stop and render aid, police said.
