Overnight fire causes roughly $75,000 in damage to Southwest Side home; no injuries reported Fire was called in around 2 a.m. in 200 block of McLaughlin Avenue
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at a home on the city’s Southwest Side overnight.
The fire was called in around 2 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of McLaughlin Avenue, not far from Southwest Military Drive and New Laredo Highway.
Firefighters said they arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. They were able to put the fire out quickly and without incident.
Fire officials said the son of the homeowner was staying at the home the last couple of days to keep an eye on the place, but he was not home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is not currently known. A fire investigation team will now try and figure out an exact cause.
The San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department both responded to the call.
Damage to the home is estimated at around $75,000.
