3 arrested on murder charges after shooting in Dimmit County, sheriff’s office says

CARRIZO SPRINGS, Texas – Three men were arrested last week on suspicion of murder in connection with a shooting in Dimmit County, according to the sheriff’s office.

In a Facebook post, deputies said both KC Abraham and Zachary Garza face deadly conduct and tampering with physical evidence charges in addition to the murder offense. They were booked into the Dimmit County jail on separate $550,000 bonds.

Ramiro Mora was booked into the Dimmit County jail on a $500,000 bond for the murder charge, the sheriff’s office said.

Dimmit County is located in southeast Texas. Its county seat is Carrizo Springs.

The shooting happened at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 19 in the area of West Thompson Street and North 17th Street.

Deputies located a male with apparent gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office stated. Deputies provided “life-saving measures” until other first-responders arrived to transport the victim to a local hospital.

Abraham, Garza and Mora were arrested within 12 hours of the initial 911 call, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Texas Rangers are assisting the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
