Appeals court hears case of 3 ex-cops charged in Floyd death
The Minnesota Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments Thursday on whether three former Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd 's death should face an additional count of aiding and abetting third-degree murder. Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao are scheduled to face trial next March on charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and manslaughter. San Antonio – A San Antonio family is disappointed with the Bexar County justice system after the alleged killer of their loved one bonded out of jail and is still awaiting trial. San Antonio police say Edison Carraman, 22, his cousin, allegedly pulled the trigger. Kristopher’s mother, Michele Carraman, said she feels the justice system has failed their family. “Kristopher was a happy, humble, outgoing father, son, grandson, brother, friend whose life was taken way too soon,” Michele Carraman said through tears. There is no replacing him.”Since the shooting, Michele Carraman said she has been calling non-stop to see when Edison Carraman would finally be tried by a jury.

Gang-affiliated suspect charged with murder in fatal West Side shooting, police say
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have tracked down the suspect in a shooting that left one man dead in his car on the West Side. Francisco Miranda, 31, is facing a murder charge. The shooting happened last Thursday in the 300 block of South San Augustine Avenue. Police say Miranda held someone at gunpoint and forced that person to drive Miranda away from the scene. Witnesses were able to help officers track down Miranda, and he was arrested Friday morning.

San Marcos police make arrest after first murder of 2021
SAN MARCOS, Texas – San Marcos police arrested a 59-year-old man connected with the murder of a 33-year-old man at a local hotel. Officers were called to the Econo Lodge Hotel and found a man dead inside one of the rooms on Tuesday night. An investigation led officers to the suspect, Melvin George Nicholas Jr., and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest, police said. An autopsy report from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office is pending in the case. Police say this is the first homicide in San Marcos in 2021.

SAN ANTONIO – A man is now behind bars after San Antonio police say he’s responsible for a murder that happened on Christmas Eve. According to an arrest affidavit, 42-year-old Adara Christopher Davis has been charged in the death of 23-year-old James Anthony Vargas. A witness told police the suspect arrived at the home with a baseball bat and accused Vargas of stealing from him. The suspect was later identified as Davis and he was taken into custody.
