SAPD officer accused of choking family member arrested in Cibolo

Robert Ingram, 43, has been with SAPD for more than 10 years

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Police Officer with more than 10 years on the force was arrested and charged with choking a family member on Thursday.

Robert Ingram, 43, was arrested in Cibolo and released on a $50,000 bond.

According to archived reports, Ingram once served as a firearms instructor for the police department but his most recent assignment was to South patrol.

A spokesperson for the department said Ingram has been placed on administrative leave pending a department review.
