SAN ANTONIO – Some San Antonio Police officers will give up their shavers for a good cause in November.
On Monday, SAPD chief William McManus announced officers will be allowed to particpate in "No Shave November," in an effort to fundraise for the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Officers who decide to ditch the clean shaven look will donate between $30 and $50 to cancer research. Officers who want to grow a beard will donate $50 and officers who want to grow a goatee will donate $30.
At the end of the month, all proceeds will be sent to United Way who will distribute the donations to the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
