2014 Humana Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

SAN ANTONIO – More than 24,000 participants are expected to take part this weekend in the Humana Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon & 1/2 Marathon.

Runners will be greeted with much nicer weather than last year, when unseasonably warm and humid weather made for a miserable run.

The forecast for this weekend calls for temperatures in the low 60s.

7:30 a.m. Marathon, Half Marathon, 2-Person Half Marathon Relay & 5k Start

9:30-10:30 a.m. Peak time at the Half Marathon finish line

9:35 a.m. Men's Elite Marathon Finish (approx.)

9:50 a.m. Women's Elite Marathon Finish  (approx.)

11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Peak time at the Marathon finish line

8-10:45 a.m.

All 50 states participating including top five states: TX, CA, IL, CO, AZ

49 percent traveling from outside of San Antonio / 20 percent from outside of Texas

Participants from 13 countries; 3 percent from Mexico

2013 economic impact was more than $34.4 million and 22,396 hotel room nights

New or Noteworthy in 2014:

Humana - Humana is the first-ever title sponsor of Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio and their CEO Bruce Broussard will join more than 250 Humana associates running in this weekend's events

Meb - Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series' VP of Running arrives Friday afternoon for the press conference, will be hosting a clinic, attending the VIP party, pacing Saturday's 10k and serve as the grand marshal of Sunday's marathon

New Saturday Rock 'n' Roll 10k - Meb will pace the 7:30 mile group at Saturday's new 10k, which finishes at the Alamo Plaza

SUBWAY KiDS ROCK San Antonio - More than 2,000 kids will be completing their own marathon or half marathon on Saturday. New title sponsor SUBWAY and new venue at SeaWorld 

SWBC Executive Challenge - SWBC has launched an "Executive Challenge," where executives from companies across south Texas will compete against each other in a special wave of the race

December date - Historically held the 2nd or 3rd weekend of November, this year marks the first time Humana Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio will take place in December
