SAN ANTONIO – The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs return nine starters from a team that finished 6-6 last season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
Head coach Carlton McKinney and the Mustangs are looking to win district after finishing 3-2 last season.
Quaterback Colby Newman and Devin Hester are some of the key players to watch for Nixon-Smiley.
The Mustangs kick off their season on the road in Woodsboro on Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
