There is currently evidence at the Bexar County Crime Lab that has been untouched and uninspected for more than a year.

Forensic scientists are getting hands-on with guns and bullets inside the firearms section at the Bexar County Crime Lab.

There is a push to get more women into forensics, and Bexar County is making an effort. The county is hosting several online events during National Forensic Science Week to showcase local scientists' impact.

The Bexar County crime lab's director says they have about seven month's worth of cases waiting to be tested.

Any cases dealing with serology, DNA, firearms and ballistics, gunshot residue, or drugs would most likely be handled by a forensic scientist at the Bexar County Crime Lab.
