SAN ANTONIO With protests that have been happening all over the country and internationally, parents have been wondering what is the best way to talk to their kids about racism.
Lulu as she likes to be called, is an author and pediatrician at San Antonios Youth Health Center.
She suggests for young children who have lots of questions, start by getting comfortable with having an uncomfortable conversation with your kids.
Put a name to it, put a face to it.If a child is a younger child, Umeh advises to use words like mean. If the child is 11 years old, come out and call it racism.
She said racism is a form of bullying and it starts at home, which is why parents should learn to stop it when it begins.
