Fatalities are still increasing,” the Department of State Health Services tweeted on its official account. Texas officials report that about 1.2 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine and that about 185,000 are fully vaccinated. In an emergency meeting Wednesday, however, commissioners voted 4-1 to rescind their decision after it drew the ire of state health officials.
