Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones took the podium in front of the media at Oxnard, California for the first time on Tuesday morning. Alongside executive vice president, CEO and director of player personnel Stephen Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy, Jerry kicked off training camp with the annual โState of the Cowboysโ Address.
Cowboys newcomer Gerald McCoy out for season with leg injury
FRISCO, Texas Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is out for the season after tearing the quadriceps tendon in his right leg in the first padded practice of training camp Monday. Executive vice president of personnel Stephen Jones said McCoy would have surgery soon. Jones said McCoy was working against Antwaun Woods in individual drills when Woods stepped on his foot. McCoy was the first of four significant additions on the defensive line in free agency. Hill couldn't really break the rotation for the defensive line during a rough rookie season.
Rumors surface of disturbing Dez Bryant video
The offseason drama between the Cowboys and Dez Bryant could be ramped up amid reports of an alleged incriminating video that involves the star wide receiver. Several media outlets reported on a mystery video that has allegedly been around for months and may be stalling the contract negotiations between the Cowboys and Bryant. The Cowboys are currently in contract negotiations with Bryant who is looking for a long-term deal worth more than $120 million. The Cowboys have said they are willing to place the franchise tag on Bryant this season as they work out something long-term. The franchise tag pays Bryant nearly $13 million in guaranteed money next season.
