Heavy rain moves out of SA, city deals with power outages

CPS Energy: Nearly 8000 people were without power at some point overnight

SAN ANTONIO – KSAT 12 meteorologist Mike Osterhage says the showers and storms are continuing to move east. Osterhage says it will eventually be sunny on Wednesday, and 84°.

6 a.m. UPDATE: NWS says storms will continue to move east thru the morning. Gusty winds, cloud to ground lightning, and heavy rainfall still occurring.

3:20 a.m. UPDATE: The National Weather Service says the storms are clearing the western part of Bexar County.

3:05 a.m. UPDATE: The National Weather Service says a Flood Advisory is in effect for Bexar County until 5 a.m. One inch of rainfall is possible over the next hour or so.

2:30 a.m. UPDATE: The National Weather Service says both Austin and San Antonio metro areas are under showers and storms and strong winds. Pea sized hail is possible as well.

1:30 a.m. UPDATE: The National Weather Service says the first set of shower and storms are now moving over Northwest Bexar County.



Severe storms with a potential for hail are possible overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, KSAT Meteorologists say.

Isolated storms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening, mainly west of San Antonio across the Hill Country and Edwards Plateau. Hail and gusty winds may accompany these storms. An isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out.

The threat of severe weather for San Antonio emerges between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Gusty winds and a small threat of hail will be the main risks with this line.
