SAN ANTONIO - Today kicks off a week-long stretch of rain chances across South Texas.

However, rain chances will be higher or lower, depending on where you live.

A unique weather setup will be in place this week across Texas: A steady stream of tropical moisture will be flowing into West Texas and the Edwards Plateau region. This has already begun to spark widespread shower and thunderstorm activity near Del Rio and Eagle Pass Monday.

Our westernmost communities, such as Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Bracketville, Rocksprings, Uvalde, and Leakey, will continue to see widespread rain through the end of the week.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued west of San Antonio until 12 a.m. Friday. Five to 10 inches of rain will be possible in this area.

The rest of South Texas will just see more isolated shower activity throughout the week. This will result in much lower rainfall totals, so there is no concern for flooding in Bexar County and all points east of I-35.

A weak cool front will dip into San Antonio by Thursday. This will keep rain chances at 50 percent for the day, with non-severe storms and heavy showers possible.

The cool front will wash out south of us on Friday. We will also see the widespread rain west of San Antonio come to an end by then.

By Saturday, we'll see more sunshine and get a nice drop in humidity!
