Retired Navy Admiral explores what World War III could look like in new book
The UNited States and the former Soviet Union had many confrontations during the Cold War. That reality is what inspired Admiral James Stavridis to write his book, โ2034: A Novel of the Next World War.โ The U.S. Navy veteran and former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO said he believes Cold War literature helped prevent a full-on war between the U.S. and Soviet Union. However, the Admiral also noticed the rising tensions with China, and how some people are calling it a Second Cold War. โBe part of that international world support those international organizations, theyโre flawed. 9th annual San Antonio Book Festival brings community together in free 3-day virtual gathering with nearly 200 authors
SAN ANTONIO โ The San Antonio Book Festival (SABF) is excited to announce its 2021 author lineup and events schedule, which includes nearly 200 local, regional, and national authors who will be participating in the festival, as well as an event new to San Antonio, Lit Crawl. The free virtual festival will feature award-winning authors like Sandra Cisneros, Walter Isaacson and Kristin Hannah. โWhen I look at this yearโs book festival lineup and programming, the word that comes to mind is โabundance,โโ said Lilly Gonzalez, SABFโs executive director. San Antonio Book Festival will take place online in 2021
SAN ANTONIO โ The San Antonio Book Festival has announced that the 2021 event will take place online, but in-person sessions are possible depending on COVID-19 trends. The 2021 festival will take place from April 9-11, bringing in 75 authors from the local to the national level. This will be the first time the festival will take place online, organizers said Thursday. If we have to be virtual, weโre focusing on ways to make the online experience as close to the real thing as we can.โThe free festival will take place on Accelevents.com. A virtual festival was held for teens and kids in May after 2020โฒs in-person festival was canceled.
39th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival in May canceled
SAN ANTONIO โ Another popular festival has been canceled. The Tejano Conjunto Festival, which was supposed to take place May 13-17 at the Guadalupe Theater and Rosedale Park, was officially canceled on Wednesday, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center announced. Every year the popular festival draws thousands of fans to listen to over 30 of the most popular and emerging bands.
