Pop megastar Katy Perry announces San Antonio tour date, new album

SAN ANTONIO – KatyCats, get your fireworks ready: Katy Perry is coming to San Antonio!

The pop megastar is bringing her “Witness” tour to the AT&T Center on Jan. 10, 2018.

“Witness: The Tour” comes on the the heels of the June 9 release of Perry’s new album, also called “Witness.” Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 22. Various pre-sale options are also available.

Ten years after breaking into the mainstream with “I Kissed a Girl,” Perry has had a slew of hits, including “Roar,” “Dark Horse,” “California Gurls” and “Teenage Dream.”

“Witness: The Tour” is Perry’s first major outing following her 151-date “Prismatic World Tour” which concluded in 2015. The Santa Barbara, California, native is known for her wild concert experiences, with Rolling Stone magazine calling the “Prismatic” tour “a show to damage retinas and blow minds.”

The real question is, will she bring Super Bowl XLIX’s infamous "Left Shark” with her?
