SAN ANTONIO – Just in time for peak wedding season Blue Bell Ice Cream has announced its latest flavor and brought one back from the past, the ice cream maker announced Monday.
The new "Bride’s Cake Ice Cream" is an almond ice cream with white cake pieces surrounded by an amaretto cream cheese icing swirl.

The new flavor was inspired by popular wedding cake flavors. In connection to this new addition, Blue Bell is also bringing back "Groom’s Cake" -- a chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate-coated strawberry hearts that is surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing that was released back in 2009.
Both the "Bride’s Cake Ice Cream" and the "Grooms’ Cake Ice Cream" will only be available for a limited time.
“We have heard from fans who serve Blue Bell Ice Cream at their weddings in place of the traditional cake. Now you can have both,” Jenny Van Dorf, Blue Bell public relations manager said.
