LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $1.5 million worth of cocaine at a Laredo port of entry.

The seizure happened Tuesday at the World Trade Bridge, when a CBP officer referred a tractor trailer for a secondary inspection, officials said.
A non-intrusive imaging system and a canine inspection by CBP officers resulted in the discovery of 72 packages containing 200 pounds of cocaine, officials said.

The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
