SAN ANTONIO – The son of a state representative from San Antonio has been arrested and is facing charges of sexually assaulting a young boy.
Jose Guadalupe Farias, 38, was indicted for continuous sexual abuse of a child. Farias is the son of San Antonio Representative Joe Farias.

According to the indictment, the younger Farias sexually abused the boy repeatedly between July 1 and Sept. 23. The alleged victim was younger than 14-years-old at the time.
Congressman Farias' office issued a statement Wednesday following the arrest of his son that said:
"As my family deals with this difficult, private matter, I ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers."
No court date has been set for his son's case.
